Rallying the Community to Make an Impact

Have you ever heard the story of stone soup? 🍲
In this parable, the hungry travelers go door to door asking if someone could give them a meal. They come back to the town square still in need of food, so they begin boiling a pot of water. As curious villagers come by and inquire about the travelers pot of water, the travelers convince them to contribute just one thing to make their "stone soup" a little better. After just one small contribution from each of the villagers - there is enough soup for all to enjoy.
The moral of the story is that while we may not be able to have a grand contribution on our own - if you bring what you can, no matter how small, together we can make a big impact.
This story was the foundation of putting together a food drive to rally the community and support each other during this time of uncertainty. Together with Fur Baby Care MN, LMK Behavioral Health, East Range DAC, Northridge Community Credit Union, Iron Trail Motors Event Center, Sundell Eye Associates, and Pohaki, as well as an online donation link set up by AEOA -
We were able to deliver 732 lbs. of food and $367 in monetary donations to the Quad Cities Food Shelf.
