Developing the Next Generation of Young Professionals

The UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics hosted an informational luncheon at the Sawmill Saloon & Restaurant on Tuesday, January 27th to share information about their Internships and Rural Opportunities Network (IRON) program with regional leaders. While enjoying a taco buffet lunch, attendees engaged in meaningful conversations to share their thoughts and questions about obtaining interns for their industry.

The Labovitz School of Business and Economics shared how the Internships and Rural Opportunities Network (IRON) is supporting workforce needs across Greater Minnesota. Their students are eager to contribute their skills in operations, supply chain, finance, marketing, analytics, HR, and healthcare management and were inspired to hear ideas for meaningful projects on the Iron Range where students can make an impact.

From mining, environmental services, and transportation, to hospitality, healthcare and outdoor recreation, the diversity of businesses in our region truly define the strength and identity of northern Minnesota. Events like this help deepen relationships and open the door for continued collaboration and we're excited to continue forging these partnerships to strengthen the future of our communities.
